Roy Hargrove

Roy Hargrove was discovered in high school as a potential jazz talent by Wynton Marsalis. In the late 80's early 90's Roy could more often be found in New York City jam sessions. Roy Returned to Blues Alley last week with his quintet, Sullivan Fortner(Piano), Justin Robinson(Sax), Motez Coleman (Drums) & Ameen Saleem(Bass) together they took fans to a different world with a mesmerizing melody and a gracefull & elegant performace. the band continues to tour the world keeping Jazz alive.

Freddy Cole Quartet is a true Gem in the Jazz world, Freddy and his cast Elias Bailey (Bass), Randy Napoleon (Guitar), Curtis Boyd (Drums), & Freddy Cole (piano)Serenaded Blues Alley fans with an unforgettable performance W/ each musican playing each note with so much soul & passion, it was like fallin in love all over again.

Cyrus Chestnut Trio (Piano),Neal Smith (Drums), & Dezron Douglas (Bass) together these musicans took Blues Alley fans on an incredible musical journey down from the southern Blues, up to an early Swing, to a hip bob&pop to a classical Samba. some say the show was great, I will remain speachless.
